Product Description
The advent of Blu-ray technology has led to the introduction of high capacity storage discs to meet the demand caused by the rapid growth of high definition television (HDTV). Blu-ray discs get their name from blue laser technology. The shorter wavelength of the laser is the reason it is blue in colour. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of 650nm for DVD which utilises red laser technology. The benefit of having a blue laser with a shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increase the amount of data on the disc. Blu-ray discs offer 3 to 5 times the storage capacity of a standard recordable DVD disc, enabling the recording, rewriting and playback of high definition video (HD).

 Quality control problem? September 2, 2010

Bought 2 packs of 10 from Amazon, mainly because of good price and very good reviews. First 2 disks were rejected by my Blu-Ray writer software. Reluctant to try any more but then I re-read the reviews and found that others had 'duds' in their packs too. So I persevered....and no change! Returned disks to Amazon and bought reliable, but more expensive Blu-Ray blank disks.

The first two discs were duds and I haven't risked trying the remaining 3.
It's not just the waste of money that annoys me, but even more, the wasted time.
However, judging by the other, glowing, reviews, on which I based my purchase, perhaps I was just unlucky.
I subsequently bought Verbatim discs, also through Amazon, for about double the price, all 5 of which worked perfectly.

These disks are good no coasters as yet 7day shop are honest and always diliver but it does take an age about 10 days so if you need them in a rush,, look for some one else

I bought two packs (5 disks per pack)of the Infiniti discs on the premise that the BD-R disks had 5 star ratings and also were comparatively inexpensive. The first pack I opened and started to use to record videos from my camcorder. The first two disks worked OK with no problem, but the third disc continously "froze" my computer and obviously would not record - it was clearly a dud disk. I put it in the waste bin. The following, and last, two disks were rejected by my video editing software, as it did not recognise them as suitable disks. I still have my second pack of disks but I am reluctant to waste any more time using them - on my time consuming video work. Maybe I was unlucky and had recieved a bad batch of disks - but I do wonder if the Infiniti quality control is fully up to scratch. Neverless I will not buy any more and will pay a few pounds more for a better known and established manufacturer.

I have had no problems writing to or printing on any Infiniti printable blank media (CD, DVD, BD).
