cracking player July 11, 2010 M. Keeble-payne Not much to say really but if you put this player with a good full HD tv you will not be disapointed. The pictures from blu ray are stunning and the upscaled dvd's are great. Top player.
Sony BDP-S760 Blue ray player with Sony KDL-40EX403 LCD TV June 5, 2010 Sony Fan (Lancashire UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this player to go with a new sony tv I intended getting in the near future. The player was firstly conected to my old Toshiba 37in TV, and did not dissapoint
Blue Ray films are truly exelent but the down side is the loading times from closing the drawer to getting the first menue on screen . Standard DVD's are also very good and load faster. So a well recomended player. Now having purchased a new TV that gives 24p picture format from blue ray the improvement in detail is a revelation.
A quick word on the Sony EX404 lcd tv, I did the usual thing and checked out all the reviews I could find both online and in magazines. Like the player both got very good reviews. Some LCD screens seem to get marked down for the sound quality.? Once the set had been in use for a few days the sound quality settled down and I have no issues with this to sum up Iwould recomend both Player and Screen . Cheers
Poor show for Sony June 3, 2010 K. Jeff (St Albans, Herts) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Unfortunately this item was returned due to the player stopped working after it was used once, the dvd was stuck in the player and we were unable to get it out. the player was returned to Amazon with no problems and the even replaced the disc that was stuck inside the player, very disappointed with this product, haven't replaced it yet still looking as other reviews. Amazon were brilliant.

Purchased to replace a Sony BDP S550 based upon various reviews, and i have to say it has'nt disapointed. There is quite an improvement on the performance of the 550 (itself an impressive machine), the picture in particular is noticeably improved, with better edge definition and deeper colours, but there is also a subtle improvment in the sound quality, with an improved bass performance over the rather lightweight sounding 550 and clearer more accurately placed speech and effects from the centre and surround speakers. This player also features 7.1 channel analogue outputs so owners of older AV receivers wont need to junk their otherwise perfectly useable kit.
The remote is nicer than the average and is also backlit with a lovely gentle orange glow!
This player drops a star for a few reasons, it does not come supplied with any external memory unlike the 550, which came with a 1gb card. Build quality, which although better than most, could still be improved upon and there is no choice of finishes (not everyones kit is black!) But probably the biggest reason is the fact that this is now an older model and the current crop of players, not least those from Sony, have raised the bar still higher.
However if you can get this for a decent price it is still a competent, competetive machine and you are unlikely to be disapointed!
BluRay is the new HiFi May 25, 2010 Dom Vlad Malic (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When the player arrived, I linked it up not expecting too much. The visuals are, as you would expect, more detailed and have much deeper colour saturation and smoother movement. What really struck me was the much higher quality of soundtrack through a decent amp. I had Planet Earth on BluRay and selected the music only soundtrack following David Attenborough's voice-over on subtitle. Even with only 2 channels playing the effect is magical and involves you further in the visuals. It's not all about crash, bang, wallop sound effects, although I appreciate this makes action films move visceral - with Bluray music discs you get a multi-track/surround high quality sound experience. I think this will encourage the HiFi nuts, which I confess I used to be, to shift from classic HiFi setups to BluRay/SACD ones.
