Beware!!! August 7, 2010 A. Steele (England) Although this product said that it resumed from last play point it dosen't if you switch the player off. I am usually careful and reasearch well before I buy products. On the sony website it said it resumed (with exactly the same information as my other sony player). It didn't do multi-disk resume but I didn't want this, just single (akin to the old VHS). It only resumes if you leave the set on and can play from last stop.
It automatically switches off after a certain amount of time so then you have to scan backwards to your last stop. I know this isn't a big thing and maybe I am being petty but that is the only thing I ask of dvd player and sony both on this site and other research I did said it would resume.
My other entry level sony dvd player did do this so it is not a question of the price.
I am not sending it back as apart from that it is a good player.
Just beware of the above point if you are going to buy it for that reason.
Hope this helps
Adele Steele
just the job July 30, 2010 Fish on Legs (Kent) I was looking for a fairly compact, no 'bells and whistles' DVD player - and this was it. I've just replaced a TV/DVD player which was combined, partly because it was quite small and I've got to the stage where I couldn't actually make out what was happening all the time (old age creeping up) but also because I was tired of having to turn the volume right up when I was watching a DVD because the drive was so noisy it drowned the sound of what I was trying to watch and sounded like it was impersonating a jet taking off. Yes, I used subtitles, but sometimes they're quite off putting because they're not always correct!
So that, for me, was pretty important - I wanted something unobtrusive and quiet. And fortunately, this seems to have fitted the bill. Fortunatly, the 'other people have also bought' bit recommended I get a scart lead too - which I didn't have because I was replacing a combi - and the DVD player came with batteries for the remote.
Does all the bits I need and didn't cost a fortune. Ideal.
dvd player July 23, 2010 Mrs. Debbie Shaw looks really nice quite compact easy to use. Arrived within a few days. Good value.
A DVD THAT REALLY WORKS July 19, 2010 A. J. Bainger An excellent purchase, great value for the money. Very easy to set up and works as soon as it is turned on.
Sony midi dvd player. March 4, 2010 Kim Pettitt (UK) Old dvd player died. Decided to buy a cheapie. The Sony fitted the bill, so ordered it. Received it 3 days later plugged it in and it works a treat. What more can you ask for, cheap, quickly supplied, and it works. Cheers.
