 Works well, set up and forget really August 25, 2010

This little box works very well, I just plugged in my V+ box, my PS3 and my TV to it and then it pretty much does the rest.
When I turn on the PS3, it automatically switches to that input, and back to the TV feed when I turn it off. A lovely bit of kit.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this tiny device. I purchased it because I bought a new HD PVR and only had 2 HDMI slots on my TV. It was very simple to set up and worked straight out of the box. I use it to switch between my home PC and PS3. It automatically detects when either machine is switched on or comes out of standby and switches to it seemlessly. Similarly when either is switched off it switches to the other. It works so well that no-one in my family is aware that it is there. I have never had to switch manually. Some reviewers have complained about the brightness of the blue LED. It is a little bright but this isn't an issue for me as it is down the back of my TV stand. Altogether a great purchase - very effective and a third the price of anything I could find in the shops.

Unfortunately the Duronic Mini 3 Port HDMI switcher did not work with my Freesat Box.
Bought an Alba one from Argos works 100%

Having 3 HDMI devices - V+, DVD and XBox 360 was a problem since my Samsung 22" only had one HDMI port, so I decided I would have to invest in some sort of switching device. This one I can highly recommend - it automatically switches to the input you turn on last, without having to put the others in standby. Once a device is turned off, it reverts to the device turned on before that, and even though it has a manual override switch I haven't had to use it as it does a good job of automatically switching. I am not using fancy HDMI cables either, so I wouldn't worry about spending tons of money on these believing they will do a better job, just the cheap average ones do the trick fine.
I was a little concerned and put off by some other reviewers which state that this product is useless for satellite and cable boxes as they always send a signal indicating the item is turned on when in fact it is in standby mode, but luckily mine works perfectly with the Samsung V+. Following advice from the manual Duronic supply, I would recommend connecting a STB to port 1 to avoid any problems.
The unit itself is very small, but the build quality is excellent and each cable has a secure connection so you needn't worry about them coming lose. The blue LEDs are fairly bright and indicate which input is being outputted to the TV, but mine is hidden well behind a cabinet so they are out of sight.
The product's box states that each device can run up to the full resolution of 1080p and if used with a computer, resolutions of up to 1920x1200 are supported too. The switch complies to HDMI spec 1.3b which means it will not be suitable for 3D TV applications which require 1.4 spec cables and devices.
Overall, this product is extremely ideal if you need more HDMI ports, it does the job and is reasonably priced. There are some better, and more expensive switches on Amazon which includes remote controls etc, but as this one does such an excellent job of the switching I see no need to invest more.

Has both autoswitch and manual switch which both work great(PS3 SKY HD WD HDMI), the blue indicator lights are a bit obnoxious but i just covered them with blu tac
